One person has died following a residential fire on Māngere Road in the Auckland suburb of Ōtāhuhu this morning.
Emergency services responded to the fire about 10.15am, and confirmed this afternoon that a body was located inside the house.
Police and fire services are now working to establish the circumstances of the fire.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, police said in a statement, and will be referred to the coroner.
"Our thoughts are with the person's family at this incredibly difficult time," Police said.
Roadblocks remain in place in the Ōtāhuhu area and motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes.
