New wastewater rules take aim at 'flushable' wet wipes

A new weapon has been launched to fight the enemy of the sewer - the mighty fatberg. Wet wipes get stuck on the way down, catch fat and cooking oil and grow into monsterous globules that bog up the whole system.

Now a new standard has been developed to make sure those wipes and other things marketed as "flushable" actually are.
