Dame Julie Christie is stepping down from her role on the board of MediaWorks and will return to the world of television production.
Dame Julie - who was made a dame in the latest Queen's Birthday Honours List for services to governance and the television industry - will leave MediaWorks at the end of this month, after serving as a director since August 2013.
In a statement, Dame Julie said as well as returning to television production, she would take on two new board roles - as a trustee of Development West Coast and as a member of the steering group for New Zealand's World Expo 2020 project.
"I think it's important that directors refresh their governance portfolios regularly and that boards refresh their skill set regularly so after more than four years with MediaWorks, it is time for me to do other things.
MediaWorks chairman Jack Matthews said she had been a major part of MediaWorks' work to fundamentally transform its business in recent years.
