The Bougainville public service has been encouraged to maintain solidarity within its ranks and foster the aspirations of the Bougainville people.
That was the call yesterday from the Bougainville president John Momis at the 2019 dedication of the Bougainville public service.
It comes amid a Papua New Guinea Fraud Squad investigation into allegations of corruption and misappropriation by government workers.
President Momis called on them to "do ordinary things extraordinarily well, find fulfilment in the daily routine".
He said the temptation to be dishonest is always there, such as "tinkering with the payroll system, taking 10 percent from projects, coming late for work and leaving early, taking bribes under the table".
