Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man was found seriously injured in the Christchurch suburb of Edgeware this morning.
They were called to the man's home shortly before 3am.
Police say the man was taken to Christchurch Hospital but died a short time later.
One person was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with the investigation.
Police say they are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.
A scene guard is in place and a scene examination will continue this morning.
