A lawmaker in the Northern Marianas is urging his colleagues to start an investigation into the latest accident that happened at the construction site of the Imperial Pacific International resort in Saipan.
Edwin Propst has called on the House of Representatives Committee on Gaming to initiate the probe.
Mr Propst said he received some confidential messages and calls from those working at the construction site over what really happened when three workers fell from scaffolding last week.
The three were hospitalised with serious injuries.
The House minority leader claimed constructions workers at the site were wearing protection harnesses that were not connected to anything to brace their fall.
It's not the first time an accident has happened at the construction site. In 2017, a 43-year-old Chinese worker died after falling off scaffolding.
