National leader Simon Bridges says the government's announcement of thousands of new houses in Auckland is just a rebranding exercise.
Housing Minister Phil Twyford yesterday unveiled the plan to build up to 4000 houses on roughly 30 hectares in Mt Albert.
The Opposition says that will need a lot of spending to bring local sewers and stormwater systems up to scratch.
Speaking to Morning Report today, Mr Bridges said the planning and the investment plans had already been set out by the previous government.
He said the Labour-led government's KiwiBuild plan had not yet announced anything that wasn't already going to happen.
