A person has been badly injured after what the police are calling a "family harm" incident in Flaxmere in Hawke's Bay.
The police say there were called to the property at 4am on Friday.
A person has been arrested, and the victim is in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The Hawke's Bay Today reports it understands a woman was stabbed.
