Embattled National MP Judith Collins has been tormented by the media, her older sister has told the Waikato Times.
Collins resigned from her ministerial positions following the leak of an email written by right wing blogger Cameron Slater, which suggested she attempted to undermine former Serious Fraud Office director Adam Feeley.
Slater and Collins are close friends and Nicky Hager’s book Dirty Politics alleges she also passed on private information to him about another senior civil servant.
Pamela Cassidy said her sister was being tormented in the same manner as Princess Diana, shortly before her death.
“I have had people tell me: ‘What the media have done to your sister was exactly the same as what they did to Princess Diana’. I thought about that and it is completely true. It is exactly like that. They are hounding her.”
She was certain Collins would cleared of any wrong-doing.
“There are going to be a lot of red-faced people when the results of that investigation are out,” Cassidy told the newspaper.
