Higher NZ dollar trims wool prices

11:42 am on 6 March 2015

The exchange rate had its way with prices at this week's combined North and South Island wool sale.

A stronger New Zealand dollar trimmed returns for most of the wools on offer.

Cross-bred fleece and shears were two-to-four percent cheaper. Lambs wool was also down by up to three percent.

More than 21,000 bales were up for auction and 87 percent sold.
