The Nauru president is hailing the opening of a bank on the island - the first in 15 years - as a sign his government can get things done.
Baron Waqa says the opening of the Bank of Bendigo agency this week is another example of the reforms it has made in its two years in power.
He cites changes to the legal system, payments made to landowners dating back to previous governments and improving infrastructure.
Mr Waqa says the government is also considering building a port.
The previous bank on the island collapsed at the time the Nauru economy was plummeting.
