A French Polynesian assembly member, Hiro Tefaarere, has launched a public attack on the judiciary after being summoned for questioning for alleged abuse of public funds in his former role to assist the postal administration.
Mr Tefaarere, who is also in charge of the territory's airport company, says the judiciary is now instrumentalised with indisputable political aims.
Tahitipresse reports that he launched his attack after an hour's questioning over travels, meal costs and his acceptance of a watch for his wife.
He says the court has been corrupted by the Freemasons, adding that his predecessors at the airport were notorious for Freemasonry but left untouched.
