The truck-driver involved in the triple fatality crash at Patea on Thursday has been found dead at his home.
Three people in the car which the Fonterra tanker collided with were killed.
There have been conflicting reports about whether the vehicle was parked or backing out of a driveway at the time of the accident.
A serious crash investigations was launched.
The truck driver's death has been referred to the Coroner and his family has requested privacy.
