The 2018 Primary Education Certificate of Achievement results have been released and Loau Keneti Sio told the Samoa Observer while there were "slight improvements" over the last two years more work was needed.

Loau said the pass rate for Year 8 students for English was 10 percent.

He said it was not the expected result and there was a need to find where the problem lies so solutions can be found.

Loau said failure by the students to pass their English examinations will put them at a disadvantage when they enter colleges.
