Lundy was convicted of the murders of his wife Christine and daughter Amber in Palmerston North in 2002.

He was granted a second trial after the Privy Council overturned his convictions.

In 2015 a second jury also found him guilty and his life sentence was reimposed.

Lundy heads to the Court of Appeal in October to appeal his convictions.

He has released three handwritten letters from prison, again proclaiming his innocence.

Lundy said his appeal was his latest attempt to obtain justice.
