Detective inspector Aaron Proctor said officers found more than $22,000 in cash, 9mm bullets, cannabis and gang paraphernalia in the suburb of Conifer Grove in South Auckland.

At a second property, police found suspected drug-making equipment and recovered a stolen motorbike.

"At the facility police located a stolen motorbike which had been reported stolen in 2020," Proctor said.

"The motorbike is valued at over $20,000 and the owner, who did not have insurance on the bike, was more than happy when we contacted him about it being recovered."

A 34-year-old man was facing numerous charges including unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a firearm, and dishonesty charges, police said.

The arrest was made as part of Operation Cobalt which is a crackdown on gang and illegal activity.
