Unseeded Erakovic, the 26-year-old world number 85, beat the home player Luksika Kumkhum 6-2 6-2.
Her next opponent will be an unseeded Ukrainian, Yulia Beygelzeimer, ranked 166 in the world.
The top seed for the event is China's Peng Shuai.
