The Waikato women have beaten the Manawatu Cyclones 31-17 in the second semi-final in Hamilton, after leading 19-0 at halftime.

Black Ferns Sevens star Stacey Fluhler scored both of Waikato's second-half tries, after captain Chelsea Alley, prop Tanya Kalounivale and winger Cheylle Robins-Reti had dotted down in the first-half.

Paige Lush and Rangimarie Sturmey scored consolation tries for Manawatu in the final 20 minutes.

Canterbury earlier secured its place in its fourth straight final with a 36-21 semi-final win over Auckland.

It will be Waikato's first final since 2014 and they will be hoping Fluhler is available after she limped off the field late in the second-half.

Canterbury will host the Farah Palmer Cup decider in Christchurch on Saturday afternoon.
