Fiji's prime minister Frank Bainimarama says his presidency of upcoming UN climate talks is not about enhancing his own reputation.
The Fiji Sun reported Mr Bainimarama made the statement in response to questions from the congregation of Suva's Methodist Centenary Church on Wednesday.
The prime minister said his role at the COP23 climate meeting in Germany in November was not about politics, but about saving the world and giving a voice to small island nations.
Mr Bainimarama said he hoped US president Donald Trump would attend the meeting despite America's intention to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement.
He said the Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio would be at the Bonn meeting and that he had invited Arnold Schwarzenegger to come as well.
