NZ NGO sends goods for remote Fiji communities

The New Zealand Defence Force has transported 1.5 tonnes of donated clothes, toys, books and other goods destined for remote communities in Fiji.

The Air Force sent the goods up on their Boeing 757 aircraft on a scheduled flight to Suva.

They been collected by Wellington-based non-profit organisation EMPOWER NZ.

Spokesperson Fiona Tora said most of the shipment was of new goods, such as clothing for women, children and men, and educational resources such as books and stationery.
