A young woman has died after falling off the back of a ute in Dargaville.
The 17-year-old sustained a significant head injury following the accident on Ripiro Beach on Saturday at 10am.
She died at Whangarei Hospital early on Sunday morning.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
