The 28-year-old has been stood down while there are investigations into a complaint about two incidents in the early hours of the fifth of February this year.

He appeared in the Auckland District Court today and was extended name suppression on the grounds of undue hardship.

The police have confirmed that a number of officers are being investigated following concerns about their behaviour while off duty on the evening of the fourth of February.

They refused to confirm whether those investigations are related to the case of the 28-year-old officer.
