An anti-abortion lobby group is seeking a High Court judgment that an abortion licence given to a Tauranga clinic in 2013 is unlawful.
Right To Life said the Family Planning Association clinic does only medical abortions, using the drug RU 486, and did not do surgical abortions.
It said the Contraception, Sterilisation and Abortion Act did not allow licences just for medical abortions.
The group said it would vigorously oppose any plans to convert 30 Family Planning clinics throughout the country into licensed medical abortion centres.
A hearing is scheduled for June the 2nd in Wellington.
