It’s raining. It’s hailing. It’s colder than ever. It must be spring! And with summer just around the corner, what better way to shake off the winter blues than with the first Laneway Festival line-up announcement.

Originally scheduled for release tomorrow, the bill was dropped early when the festival's Australian media partner, Pedestrian.TV, got a little bit too excited and posted the line-up to its website a day early.

With acts Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals and Mac DeMarco already announced last month, the fleshed out line-up includes Father John Misty, The War on Drugs, The Internet, Slowdive, Billie Eilish, Wolf Alice, along with Kiwi artists Aldous Harding, Melodownz, Connan Mockasin and Die!Die!Die!.

Conspicuously missing a bigger name to headline the festival, it’s an eclectic line-up which, as usual, will probably have you experiencing one of two possible reactions: curious excitement or brow-furrowing befuddlement. But not to worry, with around six months left to acquaint yourself with some the more obscure acts before the festival takes place on 29 January next year, you might even have time to fit in a Father John Misty think piece or two. And keep an eye out - more announcements are coming.

The Laneway 2018 line-up is as follows:

Aldous Harding - Amy Shark - Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals - BADBADNOTGOOD - BAYNK - Billie Eilish - Bonobo - Connan Mockasin - D.D Dumbo - Die! Die! Die! - Father John Misty - Loyle Carner - Mac DeMarco - Melodownz - Moses Sumney - Polyester - POND - Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - (Sandy) Alex G - Slowdive - Sylvan Esso - The Internet - The War on Drugs - TOKiMONSTA - Unitone HiFi - Wolf Alice
