Auckland CBD street to remove some cars in new trial

Another downtown Auckland street is set to become pedestrianised, with trials to remove cars from High Street due to start this year.

The narrow, largely retail street runs parallel to Queen Street.

The Auckland Council says it wants to co-design the final layout with businesses on the street and that's why the initial phase will be a trial.

The narrow street is mostly one way with parking on both sides.
