The American power hitter Serena Williams has made sure it won't be an all Russian semi-final affair at the Australian tennis open after she beat Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova.
The American lost the first set but came back, winning the match 5-7 7-5 6-1.
Williams told Sky Sport that she was in a lot of trouble but told herself to relax and says she plays best when she is down and out.
And Williams will meet the New Zealand ASB Classic champion Elena Dementieva in the semi-final match tomorrow after she beat the Spaniard Carla Swarez Nivaro 6-2, 6-2 in the other quarter final match today.
