Tropical cyclone Bune is about to leave the waters of southern Fiji as the system is headed in a southwesterly direction.
By late afternoon the storm's centre was about 400 kilometres south of Suva.
The Metservice says teh cyclone has gusts of up to 85 kilometres an hour.
It has warned the southern Lau group of periods of heavy rain and flooding.
