Researchers in Britain claim an aspirin a day could help keep cancer away for some people who are overweight.
The Newcastle University and the University of Leeds researchers found that being overweight more than doubled the risk of bowel cancer in people with Lynch Syndrome, which affects genes responsible for detecting and repairing damage in the DNA. About half those with it will develop cancer.
The scientists say a 10-year trial found this risk could be counteracted by taking a regular dose of aspirin.
