The Contract and Commercial Law Bill brings together the rules contained in 11 different contract and commercial Acts - some of them dating back to 1908.

The Attorney-General, Christopher Finlayson, said it would make the law clearer and easier to understand.

The Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 will come into force six months after Royal assent.
