Reds get title race back on track with historic win

Liverpool have handed the English Premier League football champions Manchester United their biggest home defeat since 1992.

The Reds won 4 - 1 at Old Trafford to move to within four points of the league leaders United, although the Red Devils still have a game in hand.

Liverpool came from a goal down to lead 2-1 at the half then scored twice more after United's Nemanja Vidic was sent off in the 77th minute.

Arsenal moved ahead of Aston Villa into fourth place after thrashing Blackburn Rovers 4-0 in London.

Villa play Tottenham Hotspur in Birmingham overnight while Chelsea host Manchester City.

In other games, Bolton Wanderers lost to the visiting Fulham 3-1, Everton beat Stoke City 3-1 in Liverpool, Hull City drew 1-1 with the visiting Newcastle United, as did Middlesbrough with Portsmouth while Sunderland lost at home to Wigan Athletic 2-1.
