Motorway reopens after crash involving horse float

18:26 pm on 10 May 2019

Auckland's southern motorway has reopened after a crash involving a horse float at Totara Heights this afternoon.

Police had reported that horses were on the loose on the motorway. However, the horses were in fact stuck in a horse float, which was involved in the crash.

They have now been removed and the road has been cleared.

There were no reports of injuries, but the accident caused significant traffic delays.
