Banned American cyclist to return to the sport

16:55 pm on 26 January 2009

With his two-year doping ban having almost run its course, cyclist Floyd Landis is excited and nervous as he contemplates his return to the sport at next month's Tour of California.

The American was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France title after failing a dope test and is eager to bury the memories of his battle to prove his innocence.

Landis, whose doping ban finishes at the end of the week, believes he is in good physical shape for the Tour of California but has no immediate plans to return to the Tour de France.
