The chief executive of Kacific, Christian Patouraux , has just signed a 78 million US dollar deal with Indonesian satellite provider BigNet.

He says most international ICT companies ignore the Pacific, but his company is keen on it.

"The Pacific has a lot more potential per capita than Africa. In the Pacific people that are very well educated, you have a fairly good disposable income despite some arguing that disposable income is low but there is a lot of general support to the Pacific. And there is a real craving for connectivity."
