Kiwis will be watching the next season of The White Lotus even more closely, following the casting of New Zealand actor Morgana O’Reilly (Housebound, Mean Mums, Wentworth). The hugely successful dark comedy will be set in Thailand for its third season, following earlier seasons in Hawaii and Italy.

O’Reilly joins fellow actors Parker Posey (Party Girl, The Daytrippers), Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education) and Patrick Schwarzenegger who’ve been announced for the Asia-bound show.

The crime-based dramedy has been an international hit. The first season received 20 Emmy nominations in 2021 and won 10, the most wins for any programme that year. The second season garnered 23 Emmy nominations.

O’Reilly will be performing her one-woman show, Stories About My Body at the Hamilton Arts Festival Toi Ora Ki Kirkiriroa later this month. She warns - “there will be nudity, but you’ll love it.” This very personal piece features past diary entry readings and is focused on body positivity. It has already had sold out seasons across Auckland, Wellington, Taranaki, Waiheke, Melbourne and Tauranga.
