Man pleads not guilty to murdering Bayden Williams

A 23-year old man charged with the murder of a Tairua man on the Coromandel earlier this month has pleaded not guilty.

Name suppression has been lifted for Adrian Philips who appeared in the High Court in Hamilton this morning.

Philips is accused of killing 20-year old Bayden Williams.

He entered a plea of not guilty to murder and to the unlawful possession of a firearm.

The body of Mr Williams was discovered on the Kopu-Hikuai Road.

The trial has been set down for August next year.
