Pakistan's press says a match-fixing scandal involving top cricketers is an act of shameful betrayal for a flooded, terror-hit nation that worships the game.
The English-language daily The News says the captain Salman Butt and two star fast bowlers should be sacked after they were quizzed by British detectives over the alleged gambling scam in a match against England.
The News says after being exposed as cheats and frauds once again Pakistan cricket faces a very uncertain future and the only way forward may be to sack everyone and start from scratch.
But the country's second most popular newspaper, Daily Express, says the match-fixing scandal is an Indian conspiracy against Pakistan.
