The Solomon Islands opposition says the country urgently needs a new morgue.
In a statement it said the current situation was critical and needed immediate intervention.
It said a concerted effort from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services and the Ministry of Development Infrastructure was needed.
The opposition said the morgue was overcrowded, there were only three freezers working and the cooling system had been malfunctioning.
It urged Prime Minister, Manessah Sogavare, to have his Health Minister, Tautai Kaitu'u, "pull up his socks" and be attentive to serious issues that need attention.
