King falls short in bronze medal match

Defending Commonwealth Games champion Joelle King lost the bronze medal match in Birmingham to England's Sarah Jane Perry.

Ranked sixth in the world to King's No.5, Perry lost the first two games 6-11 9-11 but and trailed King 4-8 in the third before finding her length and taking the game 11-8.

She repeated that scoreline to win the fourth, then ground out a 14-12 victory in the fifth to win the 76-minute match.

World No.2 Paul Coll will play Welshman Joel Makin the men's singles final later today.
