Grey Power in talks on electricity price discount

11:21 am on 12 April 2013

Grey Power says it is trying to negotiate cheaper electricity prices for its members.

The organisation last week launched a nationwide campaign against rising domestic power prices.

Its energy committee chairperson Allen Davies says Grey Power is in negotiations with one particular organisation and hopes to make a decision about joining up with it in early May.

"We're looking at our members getting (electricity) at a discounted price, well below what they're actually paying now."

Mr Davies told Radio New Zealand's Morning Report programme about 40,000 households could potentially benefit from the deal.
