There has been another delay in the court challenge by a Nauru opposition MP fighting for the return of his passport.

Roland Kun's case against the Nauru government is now due to be heard on Monday.

The case was deferred two weeks ago and the suspended MP has been forced to remain on Nauru after having his passport cancelled a week earlier, leaving him separated from his young family who live in New Zealand.

"It was originally set for today. Our Chief Justice who is a Fiji national was scheduled to travel back to Nauru today but due to family and personal issues he was unable to make the flight so he will now be travelling to Nauru I think on Sunday."

Roland Kun is one of five opposition MPs in Nauru who have either had their passports cancelled or are facing criminal charges in the wake of protests against the government last month.
