The Cook Islands Ministry of Transport is demanding action from a shipping company over a stranded cargo vessel.
The Moana Nui vessel owned by Taio Shipping has been stuck on a reef since last January and is in danger of blocking a passage at Nassau island, in the Northern Cook Islands.
The Ministry says the situation is becoming urgent as the ship has shifted with its stern now protruding into the island's harbour.
It fears the island could be isolated if the boat moves further into the channel stopping other boats from entering and leaving the passage.
Cook Islands news reports the ministry is consulting with Taio Shipping about the safe removal of the vessel.
