Bunnings says they are offering their staff a pay increase of 4 percent as a part of contract negotiations but some staff say the contract isn't fair.
Staff walked off the job at four Auckland Bunnings stores yesterday over a contract offer they say demands they be available for work at any time, without the guarantee of stable hours.
Bunnings says it has put forward an industry leading contract proposal, that guarantees a minimum hourly pay rate of $17.50, but it needs its team to be flexible.
Talks are due to resume in the middle of next month.
