NZ in desperate need of more nurses as Covid cases rise

With the country recording triple figure cases for the first time since Covid arrived in New Zealand, the focus is going on how the health system will cope with Delta firmly entrenched in the community.

There are 46 people in hospital with the virus at the moment, and seven are in ICU or a high dependency unit.

But some say while the short-term surge will be tough, it's the future that needs some serious consideration.
