An announcement about closing State Highway 1 over the Brynderwyns has been delayed.
Waka Kotahi NZTA originally planned to release its decision today, but regional relationships manager Steve Mutton has told a meeting called by Kerikeri Business Association this afternoon it would now be announced next week.
If the closure goes ahead as expected it will last seven weeks between Waitangi Day and Easter, to make the most of settled weather.
If the work was postponed until after Easter the closure would last longer due to more frequent rain, Mutton said.
