Samoa's former Broadcasting and Telecommunication minister, Mulitalo Siafausa Vui, has been banished for life from the village of Vaimoso following a village council decision.

The village's authorities decision came after Mulitalo, a matai of the village, bestowed a high ranking matai title of Vaimoso to three members of his family without council permission.

A village matai, Aulavemai Tafito Selesele, says their decision will not be changed, and Mulitalo can never enter the village.

"The decision by the council will be challenged in court hearing this week. (Friday Sam time )."
