Samoa's National Health Service has lifted a temporary ban on most of its immunisation programme after a directive from the Minister of Health, Tuitama Talalelei Tuitama.

But the vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella is still on hold because of pending court cases against two nurses, as well as the Commission of Inquiry investigating the death of two one year old babies three months ago.

According to a senior health official the immunisation programme is still being run and operated by nurses but a doctor is now present as a safety procedure.
