Another file goes missing from a Fiji police station

A prominent Fiji person's police file on his arrest for drunk driving has gone missing from a Suva police station.

The Fiji Times reports that the file relates to the head of the Fiji Navy, Commander Viliame Naupoto.

The newspaper says police spokesman, Acting Superintendent Emosi Baleinuku, has confirmed the file is missing and they are investigating.

Police sources say Commander Naupoto was stopped two weeks ago and arrested for drunk driving after his blood alcohol level was found to be well above the legal limit.

This is the latest in a long list of files about prominent people which have gone missing from police stations, and means that the Commander cannot appear in court unless the document is found.
