Dead Lower Hutt woman named

06:40 am on 24 July 2008

Homicide detectives have named a woman whose body was found wrapped in blankets inside a wardrobe in a Lower Hutt house.

The body of Mihi Tuhoro, 48, was found late on Sunday and had lain undiscovered for possibly up to four weeks.

She is known to have lived in both the Pomare and Stokes Valley suburbs.

A man, 43, appeared in Wellington District Court on Monday charged with assault. Police say further charges are likely.

Detectives are appealing to the public for any sightings of Ms Tuhoro during the past four to five weeks. They also want any of her friends or associates to contact them.
