Samoa's Minister of Justice has praised New Zealand Judge, Ida Malosi, for her contribution in establishing Samoa's first Family court endorsed by Parliament this week.

Fiame Naomi Mataafa also thanked Judge Malosi for her service in the judiciary as a Supreme Court judge temporarily.

She joined the judiciary as the first female judge of the Supreme court in Samoa in March last year.

The court held a special sitting this morning to farewell Ida Malosi who ends her role with the court at the end of this month.

One of the high profile cases she presided on was the recent domestic violence case of former Manu Samoa winger, Muliagatele Brian Lima, who was found guilty of five charges including causing grievous bodily harm, being armed with a dangerous weapon and issuing threats.
