Gull Petroleum raised its petrol and diesel prices on Thursday but prices still remain slightly cheaper than competitors.
It increased the price of 91 octane by 3 cents a litre to 215.9 and diesel by 6c to 188.9 per litre.
Major oil companies in New Zealand lifted their petrol and diesel prices by 6c a litre on Monday.
Gull general manager Dave Bodger says it chose not to match its competitors' prices, as the cost of US light crude has fallen by $US9 a barrel since Tuesday.
